Rapeseed Oil: The Scottish Secret to Anti-Aging Luxury Soap (No SLES or Triclosan)

The Science Behind Youthful Skin

At Leon Luxury, we merge nature and science in our pursuit of skin-perfecting bioactive compounds.
Our secret? Cold-pressed Scottish rapeseed oil — rich in Vitamin E, proteins, and antioxidants that fight wrinkles and inflammation.
Every ingredient we use is scientifically proven to nourish, hydrate, and protect your skin.
No toxins. No compromises. Just pure, evidence-based luxury.

Decades of research, published in respected scientific journals, have explored these interactions, often through Kirlian photography and other investigative methods. What they reveal is remarkable: our skin is not a passive shield, but an intelligent, reactive organ — the first barrier and bridge between our internal world and the external environment.

The Scientific Search for Skin Bioactive Compounds

The global priority of current academic research is the search for new bioactive compounds that can effectively prevent or attenuate skin ageing and enhance self-image. At Leon Luxury, all the organic oils and waxes we use in our skincare products have had their properties rigorously scientifically proven.

We believe in harnessing nature’s most powerful, yet often overlooked, ingredients to deliver genuine results. This is where one of nature’s unsung heroes, rapeseed oil, takes centre stage.

Rapeseed Oil: The Unsung Hero of Anti-Aging Skincare

Rapeseed oil is rich in valuable compounds essential for skin health, including:

  • Proteins
  • Phenolics
  • Lipids
  • Vitamins (especially Vitamin E)

It is the high Vitamin E content that gives rapeseed oil its potent antioxidant and cell regeneration properties. This powerful combination of compounds is one of the main reasons we use cold-pressed rapeseed oil, produced right here in Scotland, in our luxury soaps.

Scientifically Proven Anti-Aging Power

The true potential of rapeseed oil for anti-aging formulations has been highlighted in a study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science.

The research focused on specific extracts—Alcalase 2,4L FG and Protex 6L-obtained hydrolysates—which were identified as the most promising extracts for improved skin bioactivities. These extracts demonstrated remarkable benefits:

Bioactivity

Proven Efficacy

Antioxidant Activity

Inhibiting approximately 80% cellular reactive oxidative species

Anti-Inflammatory

Inhibiting around 36% of myeloperoxidase activity

Anti-Wrinkle Properties

Inhibiting over 83% of elastase activity

In simple terms, using products rich in these compounds can directly help reduce wrinkles, fight inflammation, and combat the signs of environmental damage.

The Clean Difference: Why Our Soaps Nourish & Hydrate

Many people seek out natural soap because of the harshness of mass-market “trade soaps”. Industrial soaps can drastically change the chemical and physical parameters of water (such as pH, turbidity, salinity and temperature), which ultimately strips the skin of its natural moisture.

By contrast, our formulation is designed to nourish and hydrate the skin intensely, maintaining your skin’s natural balance.

Zero Tolerance for Toxic Additives (Triclosan and SLES)

At Leon Luxury, we are committed to skin health and safety. You will never find two of the most controversial ingredients in our products:

  1. Triclosan: This substance is often used in industrially and commercial-grade soaps to increase their antimicrobial effect. However, long-term exposure to Triclosan is known to potentially produce cancer. Leon Luxury soaps do not contain Triclosan.
  2. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES): A common surfactant that can increase skin sensitivity over time and cause dryness. Our soaps do not contain SLES.

A natural soap eliminates microbes to the same extent as an artificial one, but without the multitude of side effects that harsh chemicals can cause. Our soaps offer effective cleansing alongside intensive nourishment.
